The light-colour part for C. Baudelaire’s sonnet “Correspondences” was created by G. I. Gidoni as part of his experiments in the field of light recitation. Above the poetic text there are two rows of numbers: the top row (Roman numerals) – an indication of the intensity of light; lower (Arabic numerals) – an indication of certain shades of colour (according to the diagram of the artist’s light-colour console). The performance of the sonnet in the author’s light-colour arrangement took place on May 26, 1928 as part of the First Evening of the Art of Light and Colour. The artist’s friend, V. A. Pestovsky, performed in the light-declamation part of the concert.
