“The work plan in the field of “light and sound” was handwritten by an employee of the State Institute of Art History, the grandson of the composer N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov – Georgy Mikhailovich Rimsky-Korsakov (1901–1965). The document is not dated, however, judging by a number of facts mentioned in it, it was compiled by G.M. Rimsky-Korsakov around October 1925. The document contains nine points of theoretical and practical orientation. Among them: “Construction of an apparatus that makes it possible to change the intensity and colour of lighting in a room (hall) at any speed of filling, if possible, the entire room with uniform light”; Collecting materials on synopsia (photism) by means of a questionnaire sent to musicians and non-musicians”, “Testing the performance of works written in light and sound terms, as well as musical works not designed for light accompaniment”, etc.
