In 1927, in Paris, V.D. Baranov-Rossina managed to open the Optophonic Academy. In the catalog of the exhibition “Sons et Lumières: Une histoire du son dans l’art du XXe siècle” (Sound and Light: The History of Sound in the Art of the 20th Century), held at the Pompidou Centre in 2004–2005, a poster for the opening of the academy is published. “In his academy,” writes Sarabyanov, “the artist taught (and at very reasonable prices) drawing, painting, design, sculpture, using the “optophonic piano” system” (Sarabyanov A.D. Wladimir Baranoff-Rossiné. Moscow: Trefoil, 2002. p. 184). He later attempted to create an Institute of Optophonic Art and a European Optophonic Centre. G.I. Gidoni worked in the same direction in Leningrad. He managed to organize the Laboratory of the Art of Light and Colour.
