In 1931, with the support of A.I. Ioffe, G. Gidoni managed to create the Laboratory of the Art of Light and Colour at the Physico-Technical Institute. However, after six months the Laboratory was closed. Subsequently, under the auspices of the Laboratory, G. Gidoni published a number of books. No later than 1936, the inventor received a building to house the Laboratory’s lighting equipment – the former Chapel of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky at Tuchkov Bridge. A similar institution – the Academy of Optophony (Institute of Optophonic Art) – was opened in Paris by the artist Wladimir Baranoff-Rossiné.
